Implications & Audience

School safety not only concerns parents and children, but rather a much wider scope of groups. After gathering and analyzing my evidence, I'll be able to provide the public with statistics that accurately represent the systems currently in place. Awareness is critical to the development and implementation of effective security programs.

Heated political debate regarding gun control has overpowered the conversation surrounding active-shooter response. Politicians are so busy debating over background checks that school protection has been neglected. While these discussions are, of course, incredibly important, it is also necessary to work on school-based prevention.

My goal is to influence the leaders of these schools and encourage the growth of our elementary safety methods.
